Tri-State Cosmetology Institute offers Pell Grants, FSEOG Grants, Federal Stafford Loans and PLUS Loans to those who qualify.

The first step in getting financial aid is completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. If you prefer, one of our financial aid administrators can assist you in the process with no obligation to enroll. Information about your financial aid history can be obtained through the

Items Required to Apply for Financial Aid:

Income Tax Return with W-2’s
Driver’s License or Government issued ID with Photograph
Social Security Card
U.S. Birth Certificate, Certificate of Naturalization, or Resident Alien Card
Information about other income and benefits, including: SSI, VA benefits,
TANF/AFDC, child support, alimony, retirement benefits, etc.

You may be required to bring the income information of your spouse or parents, please ask.

The maximum Pell Grant available for 23/24 is $7,395.

For students who do not qualify for federal financial aid, Tri-State Cosmetology Institute offers a flexible installment plan to fit a student’s individual needs.

Cost of attendance amounts are estimates only and are used in determining financial aid.  Students will complete an individual cost of attendance budget to determine the extent of their financial aid eligibility. The school does not charge students for cost of attendance items.

Financial Aid Office Code of Conduct

Financial aid professionals at Tri-State Cosmetology Institute are expected to always maintain exemplary standards of professional conduct in all aspects of carrying
out their responsibilities, specifically including all dealings with any entities involved in any manner in student financial aid, regardless of whether such entities are involved in a government sponsored, subsidized, or regulated activity. In doing so, the Financial Aid Office at Tri-State Cosmetology Institute is bound by the following:
Refrain from taking any action for our personal benefit.
Retrain from taking any action that we believe is contrary to law, regulation, or the best interests of the students and parents that we serve.
Ensure that the information we provide is accurate, unbiased, and does not reflect any preference arising from actual or potential gain.
Remain objective in making decisions and advising the management of Tri-State Cosmetology Institute regarding relationships with any entity involved in any aspect of
student financial aid.
Refrain from soliciting or accepting anything other than of nominal value from any entity involved in the making, holding, consolidating, and/or processing of any student loans, including anything of value (excluding reimbursement of reasonable expenses) for serving on any advisory board or as part of a training activity of or sponsored by any such entity.
Disclose to the management of Tri-State Cosmetology Institute any involvement with or interest in any entity involved in any aspect of student financial aid.
Furthermore, Tri-State Cosmetology Institute does not permit any officer, employee or agent of the school to:
Enter into a revenue-sharing arrangement with any lender.
Steer borrowers to particular lenders or delay loan certification.
Offer funds for private loans to students in exchange for providing concessions or promises to the lender for a specific number of FSA loans, a specified loan volume, or a preferred lender arrangement.
